(EU) 2019/424 regulation (commonly known as EU Lot 9) requires reporting of idle state power (Watts) at higher boundary temperature of the declared operating condition class (Annex II, 3.1 (l)) for the system.  This whitepaper illustrates that higher temperature idle power reporting requirement may be simplified thus easing the reporting cost and complexity while preserving the reporting accuracy.  (EU) 2019/424 regulation refers to EN 303 470: 2018 (sec 5.2) as the standard by which the idle state power measurement is to be taken.  This standard provides three  test methods: (1) Full SERT Suite with Idle reporting (2) SERT idle only , (3) manual collection of the idle power data from the power meter.  This document proposes a method for manual collection and demonstrates that this method produces results that are comparable to two SERT reported results.
