The Green Grid has updated its previously published free cooling maps. Originally published in 2009 based on the ASHRAE 2008 recommended ranges for temperature and humidity, the maps have been updated to meet the wider allowable ranges based on the May 2011 ASHRAE guidelines for data centers. These new maps show the expanded potential for free cooling, which can encourage design teams to incorporate these energy saving techniques into their designs.
