Although the March 2011 earthquakes struck a wide area of eastern Japan, data centers and its related industry showed impressive continuity of operations and business. This session explains the real events seen and experienced by an actual data center business operator, sharing lessons learned, while introducing unique anti-disaster technology developed and adopted by Japanese data center operators. The remainder of the session focuses on the opportunities and potential of Japanese data centers in terms of its market status with energy efficient-technology widely used in Japanese data centers.
