PUE(TM) is used as an index to express the energy efficiency of data centers that considers the energy saving status of IT equipment. For example, if the temperature setting in the data hall is raised, the power consumption of the air conditioning equipment is reduced, and the PUE is improved, can the data center's potential be fully utilized? To answer this question, TGG (The Green Grid) has developed a new index to express the cooling performance of a data center, the Performance Indicator (PI), together with experts in the data center industry. PI consists of three evaluation criteria, and it can visualize the performance of a data center from a business and technical perspective by identifying improvement points, pre-verifying before installation, and managing the ongoing facility status. This presentation will introduce how to use PI to ensure that data centers are operated in line with business demands and the need for it.
