The Green Grid Members Demonstrate Passion for Resource Efficiency

Roger Tipley

The Green Grid Global Technical Committee Summits are some of my favorite events of the year. Our members never cease to amaze me with their passion for resource efficiency and sustainability, willingness to engage with colleagues to make things better, and thirst for new knowledge and ideas.

This May, thanks to our gracious hosts at Intel, a large group of members gathered to provide insight and input into works in progress, generate concepts for new projects, and join in some good, old-fashioned fun. We appreciate everyone who participated and look forward to seeing the fruits of our labor. With more than 15 activities currently underway – take a look – it is sure to be busy throughout the rest of 2017.

Not that we were not busy in Q2! In addition to the Summit, we published our 73rd white paper, the EMEA team led a webcast highlighting the resurgent Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) metric, the Japan team continued its popular Data Center Study Meetings, and several members represented The Green Grid at industry events.

Everything that we accomplish is fueled by the tireless efforts of our member volunteers, and we never lose sight of that. Please know it is always a good time to become active in The Green Grid, whether it is to help shape the metrics and best practices that improve our industry or to help give a voice to our community in the face of changing government priorities around the world.

Together we can drive accountable, effective, resource-efficient information and communications technology (ICT) ecosystems.
