The Green Grid to continue to support the Paris Climate Agreement

15 August, 2017

As an open industry consortium of information and communications technology (ICT) end-users, policymakers, technology providers, facility architects, and utility companies from around the world, The Green Grid’s mission is to drive accountable, effective, resource-efficient, end-to-end ICT ecosystems.

We believe that leadership in a world that we all share brings with it the need to act responsibly and by great example. To that end, we have been affecting dramatic, positive change on global data center energy consumption with research, best practices, and metrics to improve resource efficiency for 10 years. We will continue to do so and reaffirm our support of the Paris Climate agreement (please see our Statement in Support of the U.N. Climate Change Conference (COP21) and compilation of members’ pledges). We stand with those actively working to address carbon emissions and climate change.

The Green Grid and its member organizations are aggressively pursuing the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement at the industry level and believe such actions will open up opportunities for technology innovation, corporate social responsibility, and economic growth. We invite all like-minded state and local government agencies from across the U.S. – as well as the rest of the world – to join with us to engage with constituencies affected by resource efficiency regulation, legislation, and policies, encourage cooperation and build consensus, and help move the ICT community forward toward greater sustainability.
