A recent study from Forrester® reveals that digital transformation and customer experience are the current and future goals of process improvement initiatives.  Leaders need to change the way they think in order to match these goals[1] . In fact, the nature of core business is changing rapidly to meet customer expectations.

Business transformation fosters efficiency while reducing costs; it helps organizations to provide higher levels of service delivery and increase customer satisfaction. Modernization can help enable organizations to harness the power of the data, looking to differentiate their products and deliver measurable business impact for their customers.

Both transformation and modernization are key business elements which can enable sustainable digital innovation, and their implementation requires trusted solutions that are robust, flexible and innovative at the same time.

The IBM DS8880F all-flash family has been designed to deliver mission-critical acceleration, uncompromising availability and  unparalleled integration with IBM servers.  All of these capabilities by themselves provide a trusted storage foundation to support business transformation and modernization. But going even further, this week IBM DS8880F is announcing three additional capabilities to keep pace with innovation.

The new 7.68 TB flash card increases the overall system capacity to 5.8 PB in the same physical space, helping customers to manage their business data growth requirements while reducing the overall total cost of ownership.  Larger storage capacities allow the consolidation of multiple workloads including big data, media streaming, blockchain and machine learning under a single management point.

Containers provide faster time to market, with an accelerated ability to respond to customer demands, enabling organizations to quickly improve the customer experience.2 IBM DS8880 now provides containers support, making the data available to applications, regardless of container location, planned downtime or unexpected disruptions.

Transparent Cloud Tiering now offers the possibility to migrate and restore not only data, but sensitive point of time copies of the data (flash copies) as well, offering an alternative for a fast disaster recovery solution without the need to incur additional infrastructure expenses. May 8,

This new announcement is a sign of constant technological innovation to further strengthen the mission-critical capabilities of the DS8880F, providing a trusted foundation to achieve the transformation and modernization of business.
