Mr. Tipley works as an engineering strategist in Hewlett-Packard's Enterprise Servers and Networking business unit. As a systems architect, he leads projects to manage power consumption and improve the energy efficiency of enterprise-class information technology products.
For the past 27 years he has been honing his skills in the design of high-speed circuitry and computer systems. In 2004, Mr. Tipley turned his sights onto optimized solutions for server and data center power and cooling. Mr. Tipley contributes to industry associations as a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Senior Member of the Association for Computing Machinery. He spent 10 years as (first) a board member, then president and chairman of the board for the PCI-SIG. He currently serves as a Director and Vice President for The Green Grid Association, a group dedicated to improving the energy efficiency of data centers and business computing ecosystems. For the past 17 years he has invested much of his spare time as a volunteer leader with the Boy Scouts of America and still avidly teaches advanced leadership skills to both adults and youth. Mr. Tipley currently holds 11 US Patents.
