We are pleased to inform you that The Green Grid will be hosting the EPA’s forthcoming ENERGY STAR Computer Servers Tier 2 Stakeholder Workshop on Friday, September 25th at Sun Microsystems in Menlo Park, CA. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to join fellow members of The Green Grid and key industry stakeholders at this workshop and help shape the future direction of this important specification.

Date: Friday, September 25, 2009
Time: 9 AM to 4 PM Pacific Time (tentative)
Location:
Sun Microsystems Menlo Park Campus
Building 10
10 Network Circle Menlo Park, CA 94025

RSVP Information: To attend, RSVP to servers@energystar.gov by Friday, September 18th. Please include “RSVP” in your subject line.

For EPA to accommodate as many organizations as possible given the space constraints, EPA is limiting each company or organization to three attendees. At the close of the RSVP period, EPA will work to accommodate as many additional attendees as possible.

Key Agenda Items to be Addressed:

  • Review and discuss Tier 2 Objectives, Strategies, and Timeline
  • Review key requirements from Tier 1 that will be refined and rolled over to Tier 2
  • Discuss the means to highlight servers that are the most efficient while actively computing
  • Several presentations will be provided by end users to discuss their experiences in selecting server equipment and how the ENERGY STAR program could serve as a resource during this process.
  • EPA envisions holding several large group discussions as well as breakout sessions in order to address the agenda.

If you are an end user and are interested in participating in this opportunity, contact Evan Haines (ehaines@icfi.com) as soon as possible
