EMEA Technical Work Group

Charter

  • Mission Statement
    • The EMEA Green Grid Technical Work Group’s role is to develop and refine regionally-relevant content to improve resource efficiency in data centers, specific to the region and which may contribute to the global opportunity.
  • Structure
    • The EMEA Technical Work Group reports to the Technical Committee
  • Scope
    • The EMEA TWG will identify and solve EMEA-specific trends/issues, identifying country specific initiatives and gathering information directly affecting EMEA Data Center operators.
  • Criteria for Success
    • Success will be determined by the EMEA Technical Work Group’s ability to provide relevant information to be included in TGG deliverables, drive and influence EMEA policy/regulation, provide education in EMEA, and increase regional use of TGG best practices, metrics and standards.
  • Deliverables
    • The EMEA Technical Work Group may develop white papers, responses to government initiatives, online tools, presentations and other technical communication based on technical studies and other technical knowledge
    • The EMEA Technical Work Group is responsible for developing technical education content and overseeing technical translation to French, German, and Spanish
  • Internal Collaboration
    • The EMEA Technical Work Group will rely on ongoing liaisons with the other groups within The Green Grid to ensure the output reflects the needs of the EMEA membership. There will be close relations with the EMEA Communications Work Group to ensure alignment of message, speaker support and support of other regional groups.
  • About the Group
    • Typical Meeting Schedules
      • The EMEA Technical Work Group holds quarterly face-to-face meetings rotating through key cities throughout EMEA. There is a bi-weekly teleconference call to ensure members have the latest updates on work progress and The Green Grid aims
    • Communication Mechanisms
      • The Group receives regular updates on the planned and ongoing work of the Green Grid. Additionally The Group will develop presentations for use in The Green Grid member forums and be the primary technical content provider to TGG’s EMEA Communications Work Group for both internal and external communications.
    • Level of involvement
      • Group members are expected to attend a reasonable number of conference calls and at least two face-to-face meetings per year. Additionally, group members are expected to participate actively in the creation of the EMEA Technical Work Group’s work products as well as speaker support for events.
    • Officers 
      • The EMEA Technical Work Group has two elected positions.
