Marketing Committee

 

Officers

  • The Marketing Committee has two elected positions. These are currently held by:
    • Chair: Michel O'Brien, Schneider Electric
    • Vice-Chair: N/A

Charter

        • Objectives

          • The objectives of the Marketing Committee (“MC”) are:
            • to develop and implement a marketing communications strategy to publicly promote The Green Grid (“TGG”) as a thought leader in improving resource efficiency of data centers and business computing ecosystems; and
            • to develop and implement a marketing communications strategy to promote TGG and its activities to members.

        • Activities

          • For achieving the foregoing objectives, the MC, subject to Board of Directors (“BOD”) approval, is assigned and authorized by the BOD to:
            • develop the overall marketing communications strategy and plan;
            • develop and manage the marketing communications programs and budget;
            • manage public relations and marketing related agencies;
            • develop and issue press releases on behalf of The Green Grid;
            • oversee program advisors appointed by MC Chair and Vice-Chair, or Co-Chairs;
            • develop and oversee press and analyst strategy;
            • identify, recommend and train TGG presenters and spokespeople;
            • develop and implement website strategy, development, and content;
            • develop member value, recruitment, and retention marketing communications program
            • develop alliance marketing program when appropriate;
            • ensure global communications coordination;
            • develop and edit brand guidelines;
            • integrate social media into marketing and PR activities;
            • develop messaging for the association and
            • as required, perform other tasks related to achieving the marketing communications objectives.

        • Participants

          • The MC will be comprised of an MC Chair and Vice-Chair, or Co-Chairs, and Program Advisors from BOD and Contributor Members.

        • Organization

          • From the commencement of TGG, there shall be a single MC led by a MC Chair and Vice-Chair or Co-Chairs appointed by the BOD.
          • As necessary and appropriate, the MC, with approval of the BOD, may establish Regional
            Communications Work Groups to facilitate communications globally. In the event that one or more regional communications Work Groups are established, the MC shall be the global decision making body and shall decide all issues authorized and assigned to the MC, unless such authority is expressly assigned to a regional communications work groups and such assignment has been approved by the BOD.
          • As necessary and appropriate, the MC will establish program advisors which report to the MC to oversee and execute assigned objectives.
          • 4.1 MC Chair and Vice-Chair or Co-Chairs shall meet the following qualifications:
            • must be a representative of a BOD or Contributor Member of The Green Grid;
            • will be appointed by the BOD; and
            • will serve a one year term with an option to renew at end of term subject to approval by two-thirds of BOD;
            • nominations for MC Chair and Vice-Chair, or Co-Chairs, will be submitted by BOD and Contributor Members to the BOD before the end of the term.
          • 4.2 Program Advisors shall meet the following qualifications:
            • must be a representative of a BOD or Contributor Member of The Green Grid;
            • will be appointed by the MC Chair and Vice Chair, or Co-Chairs;
            • will serve a one year term with an option to renew at end of term subject to approval
            • by MC Chair and Vice-Chair, or Co-Chairs; and
            • nominations for Program Advisors will be submitted by BOD and Contributor Members
            • to the MC Co-Chairs before the end of the term.
          • MC Chair, Vice-Chair, Co-Chairs, and Program Advisors may be removed with or without cause by recommendation of the MC Chair and Vice-Chair, or MC Co-Chairs, and the vote of two-thirds of the BOD.

        • Decisions by the MC.

          • MC decision-making authority will be delegated to the appropriate Program Advisor within the MC. Each Program Advisor will review and approve deliverables that fall within the scope of their leadership and, if appropriate, send them on to the BOD for final review and approval. BOD approval is not required for speakerships, internal membership communications, and byline articles utilizing previously approved content. All other materials and activities require BOD approval.

        • The Use of Organizational Spokespeople and Engagement with the Media

          • The MC will oversee selection and training of organizational presenters and spokespeople as ratified by the BOD and subject to the Presenter and Spokesperson Guidelines.
